After more than two decades as a commercial illustrator, writer and publisher in the comic book industry working for Marvel and numerous others, Mitch Breitweiser found a new home as a faculty member at Harding University in 2024 where he shares his love of painting, drawing, design and storytelling with students. 

This transition from illustrator to educator rekindled a passion for painting, inspired a deeper exploration of light and color, and fostered a profound appreciation for plein air painting and plein air masters such as Monet, Sargent, and Hensche.

Mitch resides in Searcy with his wife & fellow artist, Elizabeth Breitweiser. They are both native Arkansans and Harding University graduates.
